The name Nala was the most chosen name for females in 2019. For males, the name Simba was the most popular. The Disney film The Lion King seems to be the main source of inspiration for the most popular cat names of 2019.

Compared to 2018, the list has a new number one. For three years, Pip was the most popular cat name, but in 2019, Nala is the most loved. There is only one newcomer in the top five. Where Max was a popular name last year, there are now more cats that bear the name Coco.
