Dogs and cats are increasingly seen as vital members of a traditional family, but beyond the companionship and love you receive from your pet… can they make you sexier too? Indeed, new research has found that many men and women agree that caring for a dog can be attractive in a potential mate. Pet retailer PetSmart and dating service Match.com then surveyed 1,210 single pet owners, 60% female and 40% male; 72% were dog owners and 42% were cat owners. 35% of women and 26% of men said they were more attracted to someone because they own a pet. Dogs have also been shown to win over cats, with 500 out of 600 votes, a dog is the sexiest pet a man can own. So if you want to increase your dating opportunities, buy a dog.
