It's no secret that many people love their dogs and consider them family. Still, many draw the line to let their furry relatives sleep with them, fearing their sleep quality will deteriorate. But new research has shown that it's okay to let dogs sleep in your bedroom. The study found that many people actually find comfort and security for sleeping with their pets. The study evaluated the sleep of 40 healthy adults with no sleep disorders and their dogs over five months. Participants and their dogs wore activity trackers to track their sleeping habits for seven nights. According to the study, sleeping with dogs helps some people sleep better — regardless of whether they sleep with a small or large dog. However, there is a caveat. Don't let them crawl under the covers with you. The sleep benefit only extends to having dogs in your bedroom — not in your bed. According to the study, good sleep gets in the way of adults sleeping with their puppies.
