Cat pee has a very stubborn smell.
Not to mention those other suckers that don't smell like roses either...
The problem is that cats are really delicate with their litter.
If you wash it with a product that the cat does not like, there is a risk that it will sulk and go to relieve itself elsewhere.
Fortunately, there is an easy trick to properly disinfect your cat's litter box without scaring it away.
The trick is to use white vinegar to clean the litter box . Watch:
1. Empty the litter box.
2. Put white vinegar in the bottom of the litter box.
3. Wash the tray with a sponge.
4. Rinse it off with water.
5. Wipe it properly.
6. Replace the gravels.
And There you go ! You have cleaned and disinfected your cat's litter box without scaring your cat away :-)
White vinegar disinfects, sanitizes and deodorizes the litter box all at once! And since it is natural, there is no risk of toxicity for your cat.
You can wash the litter box with vinegar each time you change Minet's crate.
Do not forget to also pass a sponge soaked in white vinegar around the location of the crate.
Bleach for daily maintenance is not recommended, as it is a toxic product.
But be aware that for deep cleaning 1-2 times a year, bleach has an advantage that white vinegar does not.
Indeed, bleach acts like a magnet on cats! It's a good way to be sure that your cat won't go elsewhere to relieve itself.
Remember to check that the litter box you have at home is resistant to bleach.
