Who doesn't love to spend some quality time with their cat? But hanging out with your cat doesn't have to be limited to just cuddling on the couch. Like dogs, cats need playtime and enrichment to keep them happy and content. Cats love opportunities to use their natural instincts to jump, stalk, run and pounce.
While we know that many cats enjoy being outdoors, keeping your cat indoors is so important for their health, safety and also the safety of other wildlife. We've put together a list of five games that you can easily make at home to keep your cat entertained!
Paper bags
Not only are they great fun to jump and slide on, but they also have an added bonus:they provide a place for timid cats to hide, which calms them down and reduces their stress.
Paper balls
If you have paper that you really want to throw away, stuff some of it into a ball and toss it to the cat.
Corks
Wine corks and toilet paper rolls cut into manageable sizes are all fun toys. Save them and your cat will have fun for weeks.
Puzzle toys
Cut holes in a small box or plastic container and put the cat's kibble in it. This can be especially appealing to food-motivated cats.
Clicker training
This enrichment tool helps cats learn to respond positively to simple commands.

Make sure to give your cat new toys every day or two so that there is something new and fresh to spark interest. And don't forget to disinfect toys when you use them again.
